Dhoom 3 the third installment in the Dhoom franchise.The movie which released near Christmas, is the first bollywood movie in imax format.Not only the movie became a superhit in India and overseas market but it became 75th highest grossing movie worldwide of 2013.Coming to the movie cast and crew part, all the credit goes to Aamir Khan for the immense success of the movie.Khan who is an accomplished method actor and have several innovative work and movies to his credit did a, dual role .As Sahir the swashbuckling ,charismatic circus performer cum owner.Samar who wants to avenge his father's by robbing the Chicago Bank.Unknown to the world, he has skeleton in the closet.Aamir plays the anti-hero the same kind of role his predecessors (Joh& Hrithik) played but with his own panache.Aamir did an incredible job as Samar the dim witted auti otis dentical twin brother who is naive and eventually falls in love with Alia(Katrina Kaif).His presence added weight to the screen. The director VK Acharya , who made Tashan a few years ago with Yash Raj Films has a slightly similar plot related to avenging the father's death story in both the films.Apparently, the movie took inspiration from Hollywood movies The Prestige & Now you see me.What Acharya showed in this movie is the emotional side & family background of the anti-hero unlike in Dhoom1 & 2(may be because those films were directly by Sanjay Gadhvi). The anti-hero is generally the crowd puller in Dhoom movies.The other cast includes Abhishek Bacchan ,Uday Chopra,Katrina Kaif,Tabret Bethell and others including Jackie Shroff in a cameo. Bachchan Jr. 's character Acp Jai Dixit is devalauting in every Dhoom movie , apparently he is overshadowed by the anti- heroes of his Dhoom films.Uday Chopra's Ali is worse and more absurd than Jai.Acting as Jai's sidekick and providing comic relief, Uday chopra is an example of how survival in bollywood is possible if you have a family background does not matter how terrible actor you are.Katrina Kaif and Tabrett Bethell are eye candies with nothing much to do.Kaif's stunning performance in the item song Kamli is laudable.Other songs like Malang and Tu hi junoon are soothing.The stunts are illogical its better to watch such stunts leaving brains at home. Couple of things could have been done by the producers like releasing Dhoom 3 in 3D format and an item song for the ravishing blonde Tabrett Bethell.In a nutshell, Dhoom 3 ' s success credits to the star power of the perfectionists Aamir Khan.
